POWERS and DUTIES of OFFICERS and EMPLOYEES
The powers and duties of the officers of the Administration Division are governed in terms of instructions contained in the Manual of Office Procedure and also in terms of instructions contained in the Delegation of Financial Powers Rules 1978 issued by the Ministry of Finance. Officer of the rank of Under Secretary and above are authorized to sign sanction orders and convey the decisions of the Government. The Secretary/Additional Secretary/Jt. Secretary/ Director of the Ministry of Tourism are mainly entrusted with the responsibility of Policy Formulation relating to tourism matters and Secretariat work. The Addl. Director General/Dy. Director General/Asst. Director General/Assistant Directors of Ministry of Tourism is entrusted with the duty of promotion and publicity of tourism in India and abroad.
FINANCE CONTROLLER:
Secretary (Tourism) is the Chief Accounting Authority of the Ministry of Tourism. He discharges this responsibility with the assistance of the Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser (AS&FA) of the department and the Financial Controller. The Financial Controller heads the accounting organization and reports to the Secretary through the AS & FA. The accounting organization comprises the Principal Accounts Office, Internal Audit Wing and one Pay & Accounts Office at Delhi.
